The leaking engine oil may get onto the front brake disks, lengthening the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary

BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2017-2018 M760Li xDrive vehicles.

The affected vehicles have engine oil cooler lines that may loosen causing an oil leak in the engine compartment.

Remedy

BMW will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the engine oil cooler lines, replacing them as necessary, free of charge.

The recall began late May 2017.

SITUATION

The repair solution is no longer valid and will be updated in the near future. We found an issue with the line material itself. For now, Recall 17V-240 has been closed.

VINs: Air and ISPA have already been updated but Warranty Vehicle Inquiry will show closed as of June 3rd. It will remain in Campaign Summary but will disappear from “Open Campaigns.

Vehicle Comments will show the following: “0017770100 Recall 17V-240 is CLOSED. SI B170317“

Affected Customers:Customer Relations will begin reaching out to these customer to inform them that they will need to return to a BMW center once an updated repair solution has been established.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

This Recall Campaign involves G12 vehicles produced May 2016 to April 2017.

Vehicles which require this Recall Campaign to be completed will show it as “Open” when checked either in AIR, the “Service Menu” of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or with the Key Reader.
