Summary

This Preliminary information communicates to the dealer technician that some customers may comment the rear wheels locked up at low speeds after a hot soak. Technicians may find DTC’s P2724, P2727 or P2729 set. Technician’s are advised to replace the TCM to address this concern.

Condition

Customers may comment that while driving at low speeds the rear wheels lock up and cause the vehicle to come to a stop as if the brakes were applied or the vehicle was shifted into park.

DTC’s P2727, P2729 or P2724 may be set but not in all situations.

DTC’s may have not set when this condition occurred.

The customer may describe the condition occurred in the following situations:

First situation:

The vehicle was parked and allowed to hot soak.

The vehicle is restarted.

The transmission is shifted to drive.

The vehicle will drive forward for a short distance and the wheels lock up.

The transmission may stay in this condition for several key cycles and may be towed in for service.

The transmission will have reverse.

Second situation:

The vehicle is driven and then idled in park from 30 minutes to 4 hours.

The transmission is shifted to drive.

The vehicle will dive forward for a short distance and the wheels lock up.

The transmission may stay in this condition for several key cycles and may be towed in for service.

The transmission will have reverse.
