Summary
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Dodge Durango vehicles. The Side Air Bag Inflatable Curtain (SABIC) fastener may be loose or missing.
Remedy
Dealers will tighten or replace the fastener, free of charge. Owner notification letters were sent on May 7, 2021. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler’s number for this recall is Y16.

Safety Recall Advanced Communication – Y16
FCA US LLC (FCA US) has announced a safety recall on certain 2020 and 2021 Model Year (WD) Dodge Durango vehicles.
REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL
Some of the above vehicles may have been built with a loose or missing Side Air Bag Inflatable Curtain (SABIC) fastener. A loose or missing SABIC fastener may result in an irregular SABIC deployment, which may increase the risk of occupant injury in certain types of crashes.
SERVICE ACTION
FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall to inspect the C-pillar SABIC fastener. Vehicles found with a missing SABIC fastener will have a new fastener installed and tightened to the proper torque specification. Vehicles that do not have a missing SABIC fastener will be inspected for proper torque, and tightened to specification if required. The remedy for this condition is not currently available. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established communication methods. This recall is estimated to launch in 2nd Quarter of 2021.
